Being a single mom takes you away from your kids most of the weekdays. The time left to spend with them is during the weeknights and weekends. So whatever time you have with you your children is priceless. You'd probably try to allocate time and arrange for some family time and have some fun activities. But most activities are quite expensive. Even a night at the movies will affect your budget and you usually don't have much to spare.

The outdoors.

Outdoor activities are usually good on the budget and won't drain your wallet. Camping is a cheap fun family outdoor activity. You can pitch a tent in the backyard or rent space at a campground. Bring along the outdoor grill and some hamburgers or hot dogs or catch some fish to grill or fry.

Another alternative is going to the parks with playground equipment. Children just love to it. They can also blow bubbles. Or you can go fishing. Your kids will feel so proud when they make a catch. Bring snacks or lunch from home and have a picnic. The other option is to go on a hiking trail for exercise and exploration.

Movies.
