Single Women Today
Being single has it's ups and downs
As a young girl, my dream was to marry and have children. I accomplished that dream, however, that ended in divorce. Again, I tried the marriage thing, once again, and it too, ended in divorce. They always say that three times is a charm. But, after 15 years of being single and through many relationships that ended, I am beginning to believe that the third chance may not be out there.
Sometimes, being single has it's advantages. I don't have to rush home and worry about what to cook for dinner for a husband or worry about washing his clothes or planning my time around him and what he chooses to do. That is the advantages of being single. I work around a bunch of married women and I know how tiring that can be after a long day at work. I am the only single person there.
The down side of being single is most of the time or all the time. I really miss being in a relationship or having someone to take me out to dinner occasionally or having him in my life when I am lonely. I miss the intimacy and someone special who really loves me.
Now that I am 60 now, that dream has faded. So I look to my grandsons, children and the few single friends I have for company.
